There is no good reason why this road couldn’t be widened with space for both carriageway, parking and a footpath on both sides. The landscaped area to the north of the road is large enough to accommodate this and some.

This road desperately needs widening before a fatal accident happens.

This has been dangerous for many years and has a very simple and relatively inexpensive solution

This major problem has been a thorn in the side of Hendre Residents for decades. It’s been ignored for far too long – this ‘strangle hold’ has to be dealt with. Not ignored by the local authority yet again … to do nothing is the easy option but must not be allowed to continue any longer.

While updating the road around the level crossing is much needed without widening Hendre Road you are just moving the traffic problem to further up the village.

There have already been far too many accidents on Hendre Road, due in the most part because of the many parked cars, making it virtually impossible to see oncoming traffic. A residents only lay-by would solve the problem – this has been an urgent requirement for decades!

I agree that something should be done with Hendre Rd. Also if they are putting a new bridge over the line if they close the railway line off it needs to be accessible for mobility scooters and wheelchairs. It will not be easy for us with either scooter or wheelchair if they are putting steps in rather than a ramp. I go that way over to my sons house and if they put steps in it will mean that I have to go the long way around which will take me twice as long to get there. There is only a certain amount of charge a mobility scooter takes and it would mean a full charge for each day I go there. So please get them to really think about the disabled people who use that particular route to get where they want to go.
